Irish Virtual Show Success
Irish Virtual Show Success
The Irish Shows Association streamed an extensive 8 hour live programme of show results, guest commentators, demonstrations, interviews, music and a virtual trade area.
With over 1,700 entries across 130 classes in 15 show sections the Irish Shows Associations's first 'Virtual Show' has been hailed by many around the world as the best virtual show hosted this year.
With practically all agricultural shows falling foul to COVID-19 restrictions the show industry has been left reeling
Clearly there is nothing that will replace a 'real' show and all of us hope to be back on the show ground as soon as possible but the event industry is going to face many challenges before shows and large gatherings can return.
Rather than be paralysed by these concerns, the Irish Shows Association took the positive step to try and mark in some way the show season with a 'virtual show'. Members of the board set about creating an extensive class schedule and developing an engaging panel of speakers and topics to build an ambitious virtual show programme.
At it's core, SuperShow, easily allowed the ISA team create their class schedule, with descriptions and rules, and to set the number of photos or videos required to be entered per class.
The 'virtual' principle was followed through to the judging aspect with assigned judges able to login online and only see their assigned classes. Judges could browse, shortlist and then place the exhibitors (only seeing the exhibitor ID with no personal details on view to the judges).
The SuperShow system also allowed the ISA schedule the release of the results throughout the Virtual Show day.
The SuperShow team were on hand to support the ISA at each step and the Dotser team put everything in place in order to host and stream the full 8 hour live event.
